द्वजस्य कथा The story in Sanskrit and it's English translation

 एकः द्विजः आसीत्। अत्रिनामको नाम ब्राह्मणः आसीत्। सः दैनिकं पर्वतं गमनाय निरन्तरं इच्छितवान्। अथ अद्यापि तस्य यात्रायाः कालः न उपलभ्यते। तदा तस्य परम मनोरथः सत्याम् इत्येव आसीत्।

एकदा तस्य मानसम् उत्साहम् आसीत्। आचार्यः एकं वेदाध्ययनं अनुशिष्टवान्। सः वेदाध्ययनं अपारं प्रेमेण प्राप्तवान्। तदात्मानं आत्मनाऽपि प्रशस्तव्यं जानीतव्यं च भजता आसीत्।

बहुदा तस्य प्रयासः परिस्फुरत् आसीत्। योगः, ध्यानः, प्राणायामः, मन्त्रजापः, सञ्चारः - इत्यादयः अनेकाः योगभागाः तस्य जीवने परिस्थितिं परिवर्तयन्तु अभ्यस्तवान्। तस्य चित्ते आनन्दः, शान्ति च उदयिष्यति इत्याशा सततं अभवत्।

कालः अतीव तीव्रः अभवत्। अथ एकदा दिने, तस्य सप्तमे यात्रायाः काले, अनुपमम् आनन्दं अनुभूय आचार्यः आहूय अत्रिनामकं ब्राह्मणं आगमयामास। आचार्यः तस्य मुखे प्रसन्नः उत्थितः। तस्याः समीपं निष्ठित्य आहूय प्रसन्नः उवाच - "ब्रह्मन्! त्वं अत्रि: आसीत्, ज्ञानस्य प्रतिष्ठानम्, अद्यापि त्वत्साधनाय अधिकारी भवान्। त्वया अनेन चिरं अभ्यस्तः ज्ञानः जगति प्रवर्तते।"

तस्य श्रुत्वा अत्रिनामकस्य ब्राह्मणस्य आशीर्वादं, सः परम सन्तुष्टः आचार्यं अभिवाद्य निष्ठित्य नगरं पुनः याति। तस्मिन् दिवसे तस्य अद्यापि मनोरथः पूर्णः भवति।

Translation:

There was a Brahmin named Atri. He always desired to go to a mountain. But until today, he hasn't found the time for his journey. Therefore, his ultimate desire remained unfulfilled.

One day, he felt enthusiastic. His teacher taught him a Vedic lesson. He attained immense love for Vedic studies. He realized that he must honor himself, just as he honors his own soul.

Many times, he made efforts. Yoga, meditation, pranayama, mantra recitation, and walking—various yogic practices he diligently practiced, hoping to transform his life. The hope of joy and peace continuously grew within his mind.

Time passed swiftly. Then, on the seventh day of his journey, during an extraordinary moment, the teacher, filled with boundless joy, called upon Atri the Brahmin. The teacher, with a smiling face, approached him and said, "Brahmin! You are Atri, the foundation of knowledge. Even today, you are qualified for its attainment. Through you, this long-acquired knowledge manifests in the world."

Hearing the blessings of the Brahmin named Atri, the teacher was greatly satisfied. After paying respect to the teacher, Atri returned to the town. On that day, his ultimate desire was fulfilled.
